I think it is exciting anytime a president comes to my town.
Just a couple weeks ago Ivanka Trump was also in town. She had dinner at our upscale restaurant and took a tour through some other towns around us. Rumor has it, that she is purchasing a home here but I really think she was just looking at where the rally will be taking place.
My Sister and several friends will be attending the rally today. I think Mr. Trump is suppose to land here at 2:00pm, gates open at 3:00pm, Trump will show up around 6:30 and the rally starts at 7:00pm. People will be lined up as early as 7am and the traffic is going to be hellacious.
I would really love to go to the rally too but with my inner ear and vertigo problems, I am afraid to stand out there all day. I am also not a fan of being in tight crowds. I like being around a lot of people but shoulder to shoulder crowds give me anxiety. However, I think it would be something great to put in the books.
I hope everything goes well today for everyone attending the rally and there are no problems. They are expecting to have 15000 to 20000 people attend. I worry a little about everyone being in a crowd like this because of the pandemic but precautions are suppose to be practiced. Temperatures will be taken of all those that enter the gate and mask will be mandatory. Since it is taking place outside, it should be ok. For me, I will be watching bits and pieces of the rally from my living room.
Have you ever gotten to meet a President in your life time?
I think it’s very exciting. He was here in 2016 and I wished I had gotten tickets. Hope everything goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteI met an 'almost' president. McCain. lol I hope to catch that speech on TV tonight. I beleive it is being broadcast from there. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWow! What was that like, Diana?
DeleteLove the pic!
ReplyDeleteI hope it all goes well.
I have never met a president, though I was once stuck in traffic for four hours because then VP Dick Cheney was in town. Is that close enough?
🇺🇸
I never have met a president but sure would have liked too. It is exciting.

My husband saw Airforce One at the airport. My husband's plane was grounded so they could taxi Airforce one, so he was stuck in the plane for like an extra hour but could see the president's plane from his plane window. It was President Obama and we'd just seen a huge jump in our health care deductible (like from $500 to $5000) so we weren't overly happy with him at that point in time, but it was still exciting. We must have about a hundred pics of it. Never did get to see him.
ReplyDeleteAwesome picture!!! How exciting!! I hope you feel better soon! God bless you!
ReplyDeletethough i'm not political by nature and don't usually talk about the subject... one of my relatives was vice president under glover cleveland. my mom had a coffee klatch at our house and i met spiro agnew. my grandmom had jelly beans with reagan. up close there was bob dole, (his wife libby should have been usa's first woman president) then there was... gerald ford, george hw bush & george w. bush. all great men in their own right. IMHO the current occupant of oval office is not a good role model and does not deserve my respect. I wouldn't go to see him if you paid me. he bullies, is hateful & condescending to women and our military. He spreads disinformation and won't wear a mask. He wants to change the subject. He can't. COVID is not rounding a corner. It's spiraling out of control. It's killing more people than our wars did. someone close to me has Covid. it's heartbreaking, they are suffering. contrary to what you hear, it doesn't heal in a day or two. I'm not better off than i was four years ago and neither is anyone i know. we are in survival mode. so enjoy your rally. i wish you well. wear your mask. i'll say a prayer you stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI love that man! I did watch the rally on TV. Hope you are feeling better. Inner ear and vertigo problems are awful. Never met a president in person but would love to meet President Trump.
ReplyDeletewould love to me President Obama! Don Corona not my cup of tea;(
ReplyDeleteWe watched from Missouri! I don't watch the news anymore, too untrustworthy. I want to see and hear for myself and this President makes himself available. I saw President Reagan from a distance at a rally. I grew up during the Vietnam/Nixon years. I will stand for the our flag no matter what. I kneel to pray.
