Update- Results Are In

So if you have been following my post you know my delima but ill make it short....
Starting July 6th I began having chest pains and no energy. The pains radiate to my right side all the way around to my back shoulder blades. I get shortness of breath and a scary feeling when a spasm hits.
Ive had an ER visit, 3 EKGs, a consult with Cardiologist and an ultra sound. All test come back negative. I really thought for sure it was my gallbladder. Im glad for good reports but now Im broke, have no answers and dread seeing the bills that will begin piling in soon.
I have already heard " well there goes our moving plans or beach place plans for a while". Ughhh!

Now Im' just going to go on with life. I hope whatever is ailing me will just go away. I refuse to go back to the doctor. If it were serious, I'm sure I would have an anwer. So I'm going to go on and try not to get scared with every chest pain. The doctor did mention possible Anxiety but thats not me.....wait, did I hear wine?

I am a usual cheery and energetic person and I hope to get back to that but for now I simply do not feel like walking even to the end of the driveway.

Maybe its just stress. I hope I feel better soon. These chest pains are scary at times.

Oh, and I did cancel my stress test scheduled for next week. If they were that concerned, they wouldn't make me wait yet another week. I'm tired and broke and I have beach to do soon.

Now back to more happy blog post .

  1. Well Lisa, one one hand the test results were good but on the other you still don't know what is causing your pain, I have been down this road of passing all the tests while the problem remains so I do feel for you, praying for answers soon.

  2. Lisa,
I am so sorry that you are having the chest pain. I know how frustrated you must be...especially when you end up with high medical bills with no answers. You have been in my prayers. I think you should see another heart doctor...just to make sure those heart pains aren't heart problems. A stress test is so important. Just think of it as exercise on the treadmill! So important! As a fellow who has been down that road (me) I care for you and don't want you to have a heart attach. Okay...here I am sounding like a dad...sorry...just so worried about you! I wish you could go to my heart doctor...he is the best!

  4. I do hope you do the stress test. It is what finally provided the info that I needed a heart cath plus a stent which changed my life. I had a 95% blocked artery. As for the bills, contact the hospital about financial support. I had to provide quite a bit of info but was delightfully shocked when they gave me 100% assistance for a one year period. Now I still had to pay the doctors but without the mind boggling hospital bills looming over me, I was able to set up a payment schedule with the doctors that I and they could live with. Trust me, it was a small amount each month that satisfied them. Do hope you reconsider the stress test.

  7. It might be what I just went through, Lisa! I had the same problems this spring and after an ER visit where they kept me in for hours and gave me two blood tests, 2 EKG's and a chest x-ray, and then sent me for an ultrasound for gall bladder and all other surrounding organs, and then meeting with three different doctors, I was told that it was muscular. I had exactly the same symptoms as you...pain in the same areas, spasms, etc. They gave me pain killers that I took for two weeks and told me to take it easy to give my chest and surrounding muscles a chance to heal. I was also told that it could take quite some time to heal (I am no longer 25!) and it could reoccur. Fast forward almost 2 1/2 months later and I am much, much better. I don't know for sure if this is what's happened to you but your symptoms are exactly like mine, so it could be a possibility.

  9. you shouldn't dismiss the stress test. a clear test can offer you peace of mind that it's not your heart. fingers crossed you get to the bottom of it. hate to know how sick you've been.

  10. That's the thing about healthcare, when you're probably sure something is wrong but you can't afford all these tests even with insurance and you take the chance and risk it.

  12. Enjoy your beach stay. I'm sure it will be relaxing. If it is stress, the beach should take care of it. I've been catching up a little...those crocheted little car booties are adorable! Lucky nephew.
